Moran transfers sales rights to Brill
On January 1, 2011 Moran transferred the sales rights
to all its micropublications to the internationally acclaimed
scholarly publishing firm Brill, of Leiden, the Netherlands.
After many years in the micropublishing business founder
Dr. Gerard T. Moran sought a way to play a less active role,
while at the same time guaranteeing the continuity and availability
for research of the list of unique historical materials
he has built up with the cooperation of archives, libraries
and other institutions in the Netherlands and elsewhere.
The choice of Brill is no accident. With its 2006 acquisition
of IDC Publishers, Brill already has an extensive collection
of primary source materials in microform and online. The
Moran titles therefore find an attractive new home and will
be integrated into Brill’s marketing and sales network.
The Moran website will remain open, but new orders and inquiries
will be handled by Brill. Moran Micropublications itself
is being converted into a consultancy for primary source
publishing solutions and related projects.
